Features and remarks

You are purchasing a large sculpture by Katharina Eichler, which was produced using the very special Nerikomi construction technique / bead technique and fired in an electric kiln at 1160 ́ degrees.

Nerikomi (練り込み, literally "kneading") is an artistic technique for making Japanese pottery from multicolored clay.

The artist says about her work herself:

"Inspired by the color and form of early ceramics and their symbolism, I build my pieces from different clays that create a dialogue of linear structures.
